چکیده
Millî Mücadele'de Bursa, saltanat yanlıları ile Kuvayımilliye destekçisi halk arasında bölünmüş durumdaydı. Bursa'nın Mücadele yazgısında Bursalı ulema ve din adamları belirleyici oldu. ulemanın etkin olduğu taşranın aksine Bursa merkezde halife padişaha bağlı olan ağırlıktaydı. İstanbul hükûmetinin aleyhinde yayımladığı fetvadan sonra Bursa'daki kontrol yanlısı eline geçti. aleyhtarı Yunan ordusunun “halife ordusu” yönünde yaptığı propaganda direnmeden işgaline girmesine zemin hazırladı. eşrafının güdümünde Bursa'da saltanata bağlılık mitingi hazırladığı beyanname, tarihi açısından büyük önem arz etmektedir.
